The sun was just not on my side. And to aggravate matters, i don't train under the sun. you can tell when you look at my skin tone. forgot to cut my long hair shorter, didn't wanna pour water over it to make is much much heavier, making the heat worse. If it helps i have brown and not black hair.
This is the second marathon that i'm doing and my timing sucks compared to last yr. last yr was 4hours 54 mins. this yr is 5 hours 47 mins. man. preparation really plays an important role. the agony i felt at the 30km mark last yr i felt it at the 24km mark this yr.
On a lighter note, i completed it. Yes, with much agony. but i pushed myself on. and boy how glad i was to see my darling standing near the finishing line. i recognised his voice when he shouted out for me. it was like so loud and clear.
Completing the marathon with a cost. My left side..sprained big toe and swollen feet, knee pain, right side, ankle and butt pain. yes, butt, and don't you laugh. btw pple, running is good for toning your butt. trust my words on that.
anyway it was a good and horrible experience, good because i strived and tested my limits. bad because i was really ill prepared. clubbing 3 nights before, chalet 2 nights before and shopping just one day before. not enough rest, sapped the energy out of me. not to mention the lack of training.
We all learn don't we? Never give up, you'll never know how close you are to the finishing line. close? the last 5 km you feel like it's the distance between earth and the moon. URGH. Try it someday, it's no use just listening to pple's experience.
