it's funny how we sometimes focus on the teeny weeny matters and forget the big picture. it's funny how come things can come to an end so abruptly, that friends suddenly stop calling or talking to one another. it's funny how couples break up because of small matters, and how petty we get when we are in a relationship. it's funny to see two couples whom i'm close to break up within a week. will it be funny if i'm next?
No, i decided funny is not the word. sad is.

been a long time since i updated. studying arts has really made you more aware of the environment. SE2213, urban studies in southeast asia. do you guys know that you can walk around singapore under a whole canopy of trees? i began to appreciate that when i was walking to the bus stop from my violin teacher's home. as usual the sun was scorching and i appreciated the trees and HDBs, but i guess i wouldn't have appreciated that as much before this mod where i learnt that the URA planned canopy routes on purpose.
SC1101E, making sense of society.gender inequalities as portrayed in families. how modernisation leads to the independance of women from men esp economically and thus empower them to make decisions. subtle discrimination and priviledges. Family. yesterday i saw an old man waving goodbye to his grandson who was in the car. The little toddler's mother, sitting next to the toddler, was bidding her dad goodbye thru the half opened window screen. her husband was nonchalent and indifferent at the driver's wheel. somehow it saddens me that nowadays the in-laws are nobodies. looking that the old man so compassionately bidding his grandson goodbye and the son-in-law's bochup behavior somehow made me teared.
what's the world coming to? is the concept of extended families disintegrating?
